Could it be that the outer circle ring you look into has a black powder all around the ring. So that when they are done looking through it, they are left with a black circle around their eye? You thought I had bad raccoon eyes. haha. The powder is harmless and can be washed off. When and if it ever runs out, just reapply black charcoal or choclate powder. Sold by the Dozen.
